GMD was founded in 1947, by Gerhard Müller - one of the important ropeway pioneers. The product main line was based on the Monocable system. Skilifts, Handle tows, Chairlifts and Cabinlifts. GMD Gerhard Müller Maschinenbau AG and GMD Müller Lifts have built many installations all over the world. GMD was taken over in 1985 by the Management under the name of ROWEMA. what means Ropeway Engineering and Manufacture. ROWEMAhas taken over the complete Know-how and Goodwill and is the sole legal successor.
